PTx acts like Botulinum Toxin type C, cleaving Syntaxin and SNAP-25 in nerve cells. Under normal conditions, SNARE proteins (Syntaxin, SNAP-25, Synaptobrevin) facilitate the release of acetylcholine from synaptic vesicles into the neuromuscular junction, triggering muscle contraction. CG-PTx disrupts this process by breaking down the SNARE complex, preventing acetylcholine release and resulting in muscle relaxation — and therefore wrinkle reduction.
